I have been so pleased and encouraged to see a good number of letters opposing the building of the rail spur for Phillips 66 in our county.

I would like to make a suggestion that you go one step further and send a copy of the letter to your county supervisor.

They need to receive sack loads of mail opposing the oil trains!

The staff of the Planning Commission recommended a “no” vote based on environmental, safety and health concerns, but the Planning Commission voted to approve.

Now it will go before the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors and they need to hear a clear strong “no” from their constituents.

Our Board of Supervisors are the only legal entity that can say “yes” or “no” to this project.

This gives us a great advantage and a huge responsibility.

I hope we will not fail the adults and children in Oregon and Washington, along with our fellow citizens in California.
