America’s favorite pastime is stuck on the bench

I find it distressing and unfathomable that The Tribune does not publish Major League Baseball standings on a daily basis.

Because of perhaps mitigating circumstances, the paper does not carry lengthy stories on baseball, America’s favorite pastime. But I think that at the very least, posting the standings is not asking a whole hell of a lot.

After all, I’m sure that somewhere on the back page of the local section of the paper, there is room enough to print the standings in a space that could be no more than a measly 4-by-2 inches!

Consider this a shot across the bow as I am online daily with the The New York Times which, as you are undoubtedly aware, publishes “all the news that’s fit to print,” including summaries of yesterday’s baseball games.
