We fully understand and support the Santa Margarita voters’ negative position toward incumbent Debbie Arnold during the election for San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors’ 5th District (note the extensive negative political signage that was in the Santa Margarita area). As letters to the editor have stated, this is the result of Debbie disregarding most of her constituents in her vote to approve the substantial gravel mining and hauling operation application regardless of the impact.

We, residents in areas south of Tank Farm Road and west of Broad Street, were treated the same rude way by the San Luis Obispo City Council and its vote to approve the new nightclub (“The Rock”), regardless of the testimony of the residents, and even approving operation on Sunday evening! We generally expect our elected representatives to be supportive of us constituents, certainly not some business encroachment with substantial negative impact!

Therefore, we will treat the SLO council members the same as Debbie was being treated: campaign and vote against them in the next election!

Jerry Larson, San Luis Obispo
