The Tribune’s endorsement (April 17) of Steve Martin for 1st District county supervisor was absolutely on target.
I would like to emphasize a few points you made. If a voter wants an elected official who has the experience, energy, commitment and proven track record in Paso Robles and Atascadero to get things done (ex: economic development, reinvigorating new housing, developing innovative solutions to tough challenges), then vote for Martin. If a voter wants an elected official who has a positive vision for the future of the county, is consistently fiscally prudent and truly cares about quality of life and public safety for all county residents, then vote for Martin.
Steve Martin is indeed a “moderate,” and we voters need a supervisor who is both liberal on some issues and conservative on other issues, basing his work on what is best for the people and future of our county. I urge all voters, regardless of political affiliation, to vote for Steve Martin for this nonpartisan elected office.
