SLO County should be taking steps to fight hunger

I have recently noticed a problem in our society: world hunger. World hunger should be resolved because nobody likes to be hungry. In addition, hungry people sometimes do not do well in school. On occasion, some people resort to crime just to eat.

This world problem even exists in San Luis Obispo.

There is a solution to this problem. People can donate canned food to the food bank or homeless shelter. Many people have a few cans of food in a cupboard that they can spare.

I’d love to have help getting the word out to the citizens of San Luis Obispo. As a teen, I have recently noticed children and adults wasting food and I have always thought to myself that there are people who are hungry or even starving. I would also love to always have a tub for canned foods to go in at every school — not just during the holiday months of November and December. This way, there is always a chance for families to donate their cans. Please consider these ideas and help to be a part of the solution to this problem.
