Why she’s voting for Debbie Peterson for supervisor

In the 14 years I have lived in SLO County, nothing has moved me enough to write a letter to the editor until the current election.

When I walked in the Grover Beach Christmas Parade with a Debbie Peterson for Supervisor 3 sign, handing out wrapped candy, a lady asked me why I am supporting Debbie. I replied spontaneously, “I can trust her with my bank account!” Now I would add, “Debbie also makes very wise and fair decisions!”

We deserve better than what we have been getting. We need supervisors who have the courage to enact policies that our resources can sustain; who tell it like it is, no matter how difficult; who make decisions based on merit, not self-interest, intimidation or large donations.

Debbie’s business acumen and her quick grasp of financial reports will be assets on the Board of Supervisors. She encourages active citizen participation in government decision-making. Debbie places growing the economy high on our county’s priority list without neglecting the individual needs of all its citizens. She is an advocate of best stewardship practices in protecting our natural resources, including a reliable ongoing water supply.

Debbie is trustworthy, and she has my vote!
