President Obama’s Cuba visit was an uplifting political event

Wow! Nasty! I was appalled to read Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer’s long, vitriolic blah blah against President Barack Obama for going to the U.S.-Cuba baseball game (“Obama’s ideological holiday in Havana,” March 25). And then a letter from some local guy also in a frenzy about it (“President Obama should stay in Cuba if he loves it so much,” March 25).

Personally, I loved the stories and pictures of the game. For me, it was the most uplifting report of a political event in ... like ... forever. In my opinion, our corporations and our government victimized the Cuban people for decades before their revolution and for decades after. I’m very hopeful that reconnecting will finally be of benefit to the people there.

Viva baseball!
