Reconsider desalination plans given Diablo Canyon’s limited lifespan
I think the money to study and execute the pipeline from the Diablo Canyon desalination plant would be better utilized by upgrading the wastewater treatment facilities in the areas affected to produce potable water as their output.
Diablo Canyon has a limited lifetime at this point, irrespective of license renewal. Upgrading to broadly reusable water as the outflow from wastewater treatment facilities would be significantly more beneficial in the long term.
