The people — twice — said they wanted Obama to make Supreme Court choice

It is very confusing and, frankly, impossible to understand Sen. Mitch McConnell’s explanation for refusing to allow a vote on President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nominee: “I want the PEOPLE to have a say in this.”

I thought it was the PEOPLE who, by majority, twice said they wanted Barack Obama to be their president to make those and other choices on their behalf. Did I miss something?
