Judging the kindness of Templeton residents
It seems Jeri Luther was upset over a column written by Tom Fulks (“Proposed psychiatric hospital in Templeton is a beacon of hope,” Feb. 27), according to his letter in The Tribune (“Too sorry for Fulks to understand his point,” March 18). It seems Mr. Fulks called the residents of Templeton “bigots,” “fearful and ignorant and heartless” and living in a “God-fearing fortress of charmed-life privilege.”
Are the Templeton residents like this? I don’t know; I don’t live there. The only way I have to form an opinion of the area is from the letters they have written to The Tribune protesting the psychiatric hospital issue. I am sure there are a lot of nice, kind people in Templeton, but the ones we hear from in the paper sure don’t sound like it.
So, Mr. Luther, this may not be what you think about Templeton residents, but the rest of us judge by what we read in the paper.
