Cal Poly is talk and no action on student parties

It’s 5:45 a.m. on March 12, 2016. I am awoken by “distant thunder.” But it’s not real thunder; it’s the cacophony of lots of voices, and they’re getting louder.

OMG, it’s St. Fratty’s Day again! And once again, the Alta Vista neighborhood gets the brunt of it, as it has historically. What ever happened to Cal Poly and its outreach to students — educating its students about proper behavior? What happened to monitoring social media to prepare and prevent this outbreak? What happened to Cal Poly wanting to be a “good neighbor”?

Time and time again, Cal Poly officials say the right thing, but it’s all words. They talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk! Fortunately, the city police responded quickly, and no roofs collapsed this year.
