Protest at SLO Planned Parenthood prays for life
Abortion has become another form of sanctioned euthanasia. It can be termed a right, a choice or a “simple medical procedure” — but it stops a beating heart. During the 40 Days of Life vigil at the Planned Parenthood facility in San Luis Obispo, young women and their babies are being prayed for and offered choices other than termination. There is no anger, rudeness or intimidation on the part of the participants toward anyone making their way into the clinic. Their lives matter, as do the forming, viable babies growing within them.
A quote from one of our daily devotionals says it best: “One of the tragedies of the abortion culture is that life in the womb has been so heartbreakingly devalued. To embrace the arguments of the ‘pro-choice’ crowd, one must conclude that the child in the womb doesn’t exist, isn’t there, has no being. But, that child is known by God and, as such, has being,” and I might add, worth.
Thanks to The Tribune for publishing two interesting articles last week on abortion, one on the slippery slope of euthanasia (“Where the prescription for autism can be death”). The international 40 Days of Life campaign would also be worthy of coverage.
