Help out a lifelong ‘friend’ — Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant
I have had a friend since 1975. This friend took me in, provided me with the best education that any man could ask for, employed me and promised me work through the years of raising my family. Our family was able to buy a home because of our relationship. My family is very appreciative of the friendship and safe environment that our friend helped provide for us.
As my friend and I grow older, retirement gets discussed. My friend goes through very detailed checkups every year and has a stellar health report. I expect that my friend will still be providing the same safe environment for my family and neighbors into the 2040s.
I am retired now, but my friend goes on at 100 percent capacity, day and night, with carbon-free nuclear power.
If my friend has to quit working, many people will suffer as a result. My friend’s replacement will be natural gas-generated electricity. Although natural gas burns clean, it’s still a ferocious carbon dioxide producer.
Support the continued operation of my (our) friend, Diablo Canyon, into the 2040s. The proof of quality operation is in the history books. PG&E, please relicense Diablo Canyon!
