Thanks to Central Coast Funds for Children for computer lab

Thanks to the generosity of Central Coast Funds for Children, a $4,000 grant was given to Peoples’ Self-Help Housing to fund a computer lab for the children of Rolling Hills Apartments in Templeton. The grant money will be used to purchase several Mac mini computers, monitors, peripherals, desks and chairs to complete a basic, self-contained computer lab. The children will be able to enhance their academic skills, achievement and self-sufficiency through self-paced tutorials and formal after-school, educational programs provided by local resources and agencies.

Two important components of the mission statement of Peoples’ Self-Help Housing is to help residents maintain housing and self-sufficiency. The creation of a computer lab for the children of Rolling Hills Apartments will enhance their self-sufficiency in academic skills by integrating technology and learning resources. Central Coast Funds for Children awards grant money to nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of children in San Luis Obispo County. Their generous donation will help Peoples’ Self-Help Housing fulfill its mission statement for the children of Rolling Hills Apartments by giving them a computer lab and the commitment to help them succeed.
