History repeats itself under socialism
Historians have found that most great civilizations — from the ancient Greek democracies to the present day — have gone through at least some of the following phases: bondage, to spiritual faith, to great courage, to liberty, to abundance, to complacency, to apathy, to dependency and back to bondage.
The U.S. has gone through all but the last two. The ultimate dependency phase would be a socialist state, where the government controls everything and we are all dependent on it for our well-being.
Just in my lifetime, the German people moved from the National Socialist state to bondage under Adolf Hitler; the Russian people in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics slipped under the rule of Joseph Stalin; the Chinese people in the socialist People’s Republic of China fell under the thumb of Mao Zedong. In each country, people were attracted to the idea of a socialist utopia and later were shot for trying to escape it.
It is alarming to see that many young voters are eager to push us onto this same path!
