Measure A supporters also fought water conservation measures
Thanks to David Sneed for reporting the truth about who’s supporting the formation of the Paso Robles groundwater management district. Big vineyards, including out-of-county and out-of-state corporations, are pumping in money to get people to vote for it (“Water district supporters far ahead in fundraising,” Feb. 25).
These facts were a needed corrective to the Orwellian attempts of district supporters to claim that Big Grape is opposing the district. Fat chance. The people writing the Yes on Measure A checks are the same folks who fought every proposed water conservation measure for the past three years and rushed to put more vines in the ground before the emergency ordinance could take effect. Now they want to tax us to pay for imported water so they can keep expanding their vineyards. No thanks.
