Central Coast Funds for Children a great help to local youths

It takes a village to raise a child.

Central Coast Funds for Children does an exceptional job all year fundraising and donating to help raise our community’s children. This year, it awarded $3,000 to the Abused Children’s Treatment Services program, which provides mental health services for abused and traumatized children.

The ACTS program succeeds by helping children feel confident, safe, secure and nurtured; this cannot be done through psychotherapy alone.

With the funds from Central Coast Funds for Children, abused children are given the opportunity to get new school clothes/supplies and be part of extracurricular activities (such as sports, dance, music), helping them explore their dreams and interests, feel connected to their community and build resiliency factors.

Central Coast Funds for Children members are devoted to fundraising and host many events all year that benefit many local community agencies that serve children. This not only includes the grant award, but also DJs for PJs (ensuring children get pajamas at Christmastime). A sincere “thank you” from the ACTS program — thank you for supporting our children!

Check out their website at www.centralcoastfundsforchildren.org. Be part of the village, help raise a child.
