Kudos to San Luis Obispo for enforcing dog leash law

In reference to “SLO dog leash ticket is exorbitant,” Jan. 31:

Carey Webster of Grass Valley states, “There is not clear signage that fees will be imposed if your dog is off-leash.”

In San Luis Obispo, as in most cities and parks, dogs are required to be leashed. If you’re a responsible dog owner, signage stating that fact should not be necessary. Have you ever, other than in dog parks, encountered a city or park where dogs are allowed to run loose?

You are appalled feeling you were treated unfairly. I’m appalled when I walk my dog at my side (on leash) and a loose dog enters our space, causing upset to both myself and my dog.

Kudos to San Luis Obispo for enforcing the leash law! I hope it continues, and I hope surrounding cities and parks start doing more of the same.
