Save the coast and stop the Coastal Commission coup

One of the biggest stories in the state is blowing up in our backyard.

The California Coastal Commission is coming to Morro Bay on Feb. 10 to 12 for a meeting that will be the climax of the long dream of developers to fire the executive director and replace him with a lapdog who will rush to approve their projects and leave coastal properties in the dust.

For the past week, every major paper in the state has carried the story of their huge threat to the coast and the Coastal Act. There have been something like four stories in the Los Angeles Times alone. More than 70 environmental groups have sent a letter to the governor to protest the upcoming attempted coup.

Everyone who cares about our coast needs to show up at the Morro Bay Community Center on Feb. 10 and tell the Coastal Commission to keep its executive director and get rid of commissioners who are eager to do the dirty work for developers.
