SLO must fix parking, traffic problems

Re: Jan. 16 Tribune article “SLO mayor sums up 2015”:

It is really nice that for 2016, “discussions will center on updating the concept plan for downtown and master plan for public art” and Laguna Lake has some water in it. But I find it unacceptable that the building developments are “occurring” over downtown parking lots, approved by this City Council, before a new parking structure is in place. How long will parking be adversely impacted before the parking garage is completed? Two years or longer?

The real “elephant in the room” is TRAFFIC! Not one word in the mayor’s summation how, moving forward, the already large and increasing traffic volume will be efficiently routed in and out or across the city in our future. Just widening the Los Osos Valley Road overpass won’t get it. Priorities need to be re-evaluated for problems that are already here.
