All must listen to the word of Sanders
Recently, Hillary Clinton’s campaign claimed that Bernie Sanders’ plan to provide health care for every American would “require tax increases on working families.”
This is untrue because it recognizes only how much the program will cost without also noting that Bernie’s single-payer system will do away with the cost of private insurance, so the middle class will be paying much less for health care under his system than under Clinton’s.
Clinton’s sudden attacks on her Democratic adversary demonstrate her alarm that she can no longer assume that the nomination and the presidency are hers. It is disappointing, however, that she has stooped to attack Bernie’s health care plan by echoing the Republicans.
All citizens must listen to the words of Sanders, who has until recently been considered too far out of the mainstream to be a serious candidate. In fact, Sanders’ plan will lower the cost of health care for a typical family by close to $5,000 a year, and we need a president who will fight for the 40 million to 45 million Americans without health care.
Help for these citizens, not the billionaires, is what Sanders’ campaign is about.
