Don’t waste time whining about Obamacare when you could be fixing it
In her commentary on the Affordable Care Act (“Here’s how to create a better health policy than Obamacare,” Jan. 8), Sally Pipes is engaging in the same kind of wishful thinking that the U.S. House of Representatives has done in voting for the repeal of Obamacare some 40-plus times.
The Affordable Care Act is here to stay. Her time and effort would be better spent in helping to improve Obamacare until such a time that Medicare for all can be implemented to guarantee the right to health care for all American citizens.
One of those improvements would be to allow Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies over the price of drugs — which, at present, heavily lobbied legislators have voted to deny.
