Cal Poly must deal with its culture
My son was a student at Cal Poly in the late ’90s. He had transferred from Humboldt State, wanting to be closer to home.
He was a bit of a hippie, as is de rigueur at Humboldt, and was given a very rough time at Poly because of his long hair and peacenik attire. He once told me a “big ag boy truck” tried to mow him down at one of the crosswalks on campus one day. This was over 15 years ago, and what has been done in the interim?
To have death threats and racial slurs made to one of the present students is an abomination and not to be to tolerated. What kind of a campus is our town supporting? I am deeply saddened by these current events. Shame on those perpetrating these hideous messages.
