We live in North County and often go into Atascadero for errands. The recent road construction for the gas lines and disruption to traffic flow has been handled really well by those hardworking folks out in the hot sun, day after day.
I find that they’ve marked the lane merges really well — the flaggers are always courteous and patient with all the drivers. Their eye contact and smiles as they wave you through makes for a much nicer way to have to navigate the road closures. They even move a cone or two to make it easier for some drivers who have veered too far one way or the other.
I know they probably get a lot of grief for disrupting daily lives, but as far as I’m concerned, they deserve a huge thank-you for keeping it safe and flowing smoothly.
