Newspapers are not the enemy

Thank you for your editorial on journalists and your role in our democracy. Newspapers are a vital venue for reporting news independent of the government. Maintaining a free press is essential in this country. It is not the enemy of the people. An assault on the First Amendment is an insult on the United States Constitution.
