Why the ‘strange article’ on the History Center?
I am writing about the strange article concerning the History Center that was posted on the front page of this paper.
I have been a member/volunteer for the History Center for many years. I have served in many capacities from docent to board member. What was published was completely sensationalized.
That our executive director resigned is hardly front-page news. Many organizations have staff turnover. Eva Fina and the History Center have decided to change. This isn’t a bad thing.
Secondly, we have had all kinds of exhibits: the history of fashion; an exhibit featuring a 14- minute overview of county history, an exhibit featuring wine and much, much more.
Are some of them uncomfortable for some people? Of course! That is the nature of history.
Lastly, about the pride flag, the only important fact is that some idiot vandalized it. We support many groups, especially when they are having an event in the plaza.
I am unsure why Kevin Rice was interviewed for this article. As far as I know he has never visited the History Center.
He hardly qualifies to speak on the subject.
