Funds for oil spill cleanups are shrinking

Our coast will now be opened to drilling, and while Gov. Brown and the state Legislature plan to oppose that, they admit it will be difficult to challenge the Feds. Until Dec. 31, 2017, oil companies were charged 9 cents per barrel to fund spill cleanups. As of Jan. 1, the GOP let that drop to zero. Think about that for a while.
