Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day. The League of Women Voters celebrates this day because we know our democracy is stronger when all eligible voters can register to vote and participate in our elections.
The League is pushing back against those who look for reasons to restrict the vote and use misleading claims of voter fraud to undermine trust in our elections. We support efforts to make voting easier, not more difficult. We support enhanced civic education programs and increased resources for state and local election officials to ensure elections run smoothly, voting machines work, voters have the information they need, and all eligible voters can exercise their right to vote.
Beginning this month and continuing up to the primary election in June 2018, League members will conduct voter education and voter registration programs in high schools throughout the county. Other voter registration events are also planned. For more information, contact the League at 805-782-4040 or email@example.com.
Voting brings us together as Americans. To ensure integrity and build trust in our election system we need to prioritize pro-voter reforms, modernize and secure our elections and encourage as many people as possible to register and vote.
