Another way to make SLO better: Bring back First Night
Regarding your “10 ways to make San Luis Obispo better” (Sept. 9) editorial, my family and friends have very fond memories of “First Night.” Your First Night pass allowed you to spend New Year’s Eve wandering throughout downtown, chatting with friends, neighbors and SLO police officers on bicycles, visiting a variety of performance venues and participating in activities for the kids. It was like a giant (no alcohol) block party that took place over many downtown blocks. Then at midnight we welcomed in the New Year on Higuera Street with a laser light show. So much fun!
