At this point, only Donald Trump’s equally disturbed supporters are smiling. More than half of us are distressed/uncomfortable (Quinnipiac poll), and a large percentage of the population is very frightened about what this erratic, egocentric nonreader may do next.
Some Republicans in D.C. are beginning to find their backbones, but most of them are still making inane excuses for every new outrage Trump delivers. They remain the cowards they always were. The Democrats need to act to bring sanity back to government at all levels. It will require real participation, education and effort. Marching for our rights is commendable, but voting for competent candidates is essential.
