Tribune should be more cautious in quoting anonymous New York Times sources

Although we do have freedom of the press, it mystifies me why any newspaper having some integrity would publish articles based on “confidential government documents described to the New York Times.” (“Trump’s son met Russian lawyer amid campaign,” July 10).

I have never been required to give confidential testimony, but knowing how easily information purported to be private can be leaked, I might be hesitant to come forth with the full truth if asked.

I hope The Tribune will consider this when re-publishing stories originated by The New York Times or by any other paper.
