Significant questions about air quality on the Nipomo Mesa
Compliments on printing the Arlene Versaw viewpoint (“Nipomo Mesa’s air is polluted, but the Board of Supervisors doesn’t care,” June 30) dealing with vehicles on the beach. Like many residents of the mesa, I have lung congestion. I use a gas mask when it gets excessive. The next election should have the following questions: 1. Should vehicles be permitted on our beach? 2. Should park rangers lead nature walks on our coast rather than directing traffic?
I agree with her conclusion: “Not taking action is cowardly and an inexcusable abrogation of leadership.”
Bill Denneen, Nipomo
