I was thinking of good old American capitalism keeping costs in check for consumers as I read the article “Amazon to buy Whole Foods in $13.7 billion deal” (Page 9B, June 17) until I got near the end where I read, “The Seattle-based company was recently granted a patent for technology that would block shoppers from comparing prices from their mobile devices while they’re in stores.” So is this a new modern technology chapter of “Buyer Beware?”
