Statue of Liberty’s poem gets a rewrite in the Trump era
Here’s the updated version of the Statue of Liberty’s poem:
Buzz off you tired, you poor
You huddled masses yearning to breathe free
I don’t want you hanging ‘round here any more
Send these, the tempest-tost away from me
I douse my lamp and slam the golden door.
So much for being the light of the world.
Christopher Mitchell, Shell Beach
