Joetopia column is the final straw for Tribune reader
When I arrived in San Luis Obispo County in 1982, I started reading The Telegram-Tribune with great respect and interest. But those days are sadly gone. Your paper has decreased in content, your editorial board has become an embarrassment, and your staff, while they view themselves as “locals,” have no idea what this community is all about.
I’m politically moderate. Unfortunately, you are not. Could you at least attempt to present your paper as even marginally neutral? Joe Tarica’s piece on high school football on Nov. 5 (“Paso football coach deserves this second chance. The community deserves an apology”) was my “tipping point.” Joe, I’m sorry you either didn’t make the team or were rejected by the homecoming queen, but move on. Trust me, high school football has saved more youngsters than not.
Please cancel my subscription immediately. Keep my money, I really don’t care what you do with it. Put it toward your Christmas fund. Er ... I apologize. I didn’t mean to offend by mentioning the holiday that falls on Dec. 25. Good luck to you all. (I suspect you’ll need it.)
