SLO County frets about pot while alcohol problems are everywhere

Your article about the Halloween ridealong with the San Luis Obispo police was telling (“ ‘Mellow’ Halloween weekend in SLO still has its boozy scares,” Oct. 30). The whole article was about alcohol-related problems — even the title had “booze” in it. The encounters were mostly with college-age folks and yet the college opens a bar on campus, even with reports in The Tribune about all the alcohol-related incidences that are happening at colleges across the country.

But try to open a medical marijuana co-op in the county and everybody in power are up in arms. Does anybody see the dichotomy and hypocrisy in this?
