Seized dogs face brighter future thanks to people at SLO County shelter
Praise for San Luis Obispo County Animal Services staff and volunteers.
Re: “Woods Humane Society seeks to adopt out seized dogs from Atascadero” (Sept. 9).
The small staff and large volunteer team at SLO County Animal Services has done an excellent job of caring for the 46 seized dogs from Atascadero. The article in The Tribune from Sept. 9 didn’t make clear that all care for the confiscated dogs fell squarely on this dedicated group at the county animal shelter. They had to work around the clock to house and feed, give medical attention, behavioral evaluations and exercise to this unfortunate group of dogs as well as the many other dogs that cycled through the shelter at the same time. Many of the staff and volunteers worked extra shifts during this crisis to care for these dogs and give them the attention they needed. Thank you for all your hard work and caring!
The happy result of all their hard work is that many of these friendly dogs are now ready for adoption: Come down and meet them at SLO County Animal Services, 885 Oklahoma Ave.
