Vote ‘no’ on SLO County half-cent sales tax and save small business
Like a lot of my friends and people I know who live in this county, I depend on small businesses. In recent years, I have witnessed many of my friends lose their jobs and fall on hard times. It is no secret that the taxes and regulations in California have forced these small businesses to cut back their expenses.
This November, there will be yet another measure on our ballot that will increase San Luis Obispo County’s sales tax by a half-percent. While this may not seem like much, the effect it will have on small businesses in our county is huge.
We need to restore common sense back in our government. We need to elect representatives who understand how this measure is bad for our local community. County supervisor candidate John Peschong is a small business owner who has lived in Templeton for close to 20 years. He opposes this measure because he understands how it will negatively affect our community. This November, I want to encourage my neighbors to vote “no” on this measure and “yes” for John Peschong.
We need representatives who will fight for us.
