SLO County needs a sustainable water plan, it’s only common sense
Have our city and county leaders lost their minds?
San Luis Obispo County, along with the rest of the state of California, is in a severe drought with wildfires raging all around us. Trees and vegetation continue to die because of a lack of water.
We need a sustainable plan for water, first, before we hand out more meters, deeper wells and allow any new housing developments.
As I place a bucket in my shower and collect water as the shower warms up, I think to myself, “why bother?”
Common sense has left our community leaders. I should let the water run down the shower drain and let it run while I brush my teeth.
The stupid decisions that surround us are demotivating. Bravo to Lon Allan for his recent column (“Dense housing threatens city’s character,” Aug. 23).
Who cares if a project complies with building goals and design standards? Proposed projects need to pay for a desalination plant that provides water for proposed homes.
Water is necessary. Wake up people. Show some common sense.
