A good, old-fashioned musical Fourth of July in Paso Robles
Last year, three local communities — Paso Robles, Morro Bay and Cambria — canceled annual fireworks displays, but we see a glimmer of revived interest in the holiday this year.
A new celebration is planned, though it won’t be on July 4. Paso Pops will be on July 2 as a new Paderewski Festival event. Located at the Paso Robles Horse Park, it will include patriotic music, wine, food and — wait for it — fireworks. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 1; go to www.pasopops.org to order.
Organizers hope it will become an annual event. We wish them the best of luck, along with a shower of red, white and blue bouquets.
We also have a suggestion: If all goes well, how about scheduling future Paso Pops celebrations on July 4 itself?
