Troubled young man needs socialization

I’ve kept up with the Bret Landen case through the reports in your paper. He seems to be a very bright young man who spent too much time alone, and ended up allegedly doing something incredibly stupid at Atascadero’s San Gabriel Elementary School.

It would appear that what he really needs is more socialization, to be around people, not to be isolated. And attending Cuesta College was perfect in that regard. The primary purpose of our justice system should be to rehabilitate, to make productive citizens out of wrongdoers. I am sorry Landen chose(?) to resign from Cuesta, as it might have provided an excellent opportunity to sort himself out while awaiting trial.
