Winds, rain, high surf come to San Luis Obispo County
Some much-needed rain dampened San Luis Obispo County on Saturday, as a low-pressure system moved into the region.
Light to moderate rain swept across the county through the afternoon and periods of heavy rain are expected Saturday night and continuing through the early morning Sunday. Between 1.5 inches and 3.5 inches is expected, according to PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey. Gale-force southerly winds with gusts of up to 60 mph are also expected.
A second storm system is expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rain to the county on Monday, Lindsey said.
The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory through 3 p.m. Tuesday, with surf of 10 to 15 feet with sets up to 18 feet through Sunday night. Larger surf of 15 to 22 feet with maximum sets of 25 feet are possible on Monday through Tuesday morning. A wind advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
