Last day of heat wave breaks more records in SLO County. What’s next?
Another day of unseasonable heat broke more records across San Luis Obispo County on Friday.
The temperature reached 91 degrees at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, breaking the 2-year-old daily heat record of 79 degrees set in 2024, according to data from the National Weather Service.
The monthly heat record of 97 degrees, set on Tuesday, remained in place.
Meanwhile, the temperature reached 94 degrees at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport, breaking the 22-year-old daily heat record of 87 degrees set in 2004, the data said.
The city also broke its monthly heat record of 93 degrees set on March 27, 2015.
Luckily, the end of the heat wave is in sight.
San Luis Obispo County’s official heat advisory ends at 8 p.m. on Friday, the weather service said.
Then, on Saturday, the temperature is forecasted to reach a daytime high of 80 degrees and a nighttime low of 51 degrees in San Luis Obispo, with a daytime high of 84 and a nighttime low of 42 in Paso Robles.
On Sunday, the temperature could reach a daytime high of 84 and a nighttime low of 50 in San Luis Obispo, with a daytime high of 86 and a nighttime low of 41 in Paso Robles, the weather service said.
Temperatures should remain in the 80s on Monday, the weather service said.
