5-day storm drenched SLO County. See how much rain your area got

Powerful winter storms over multiple days brought more than 5 inches of rain to San Luis Obispo County, and while the skies above San Luis Obispo County are clear for now — but more wet weather is on the way, according to the National Weather Service.

Rocky Butte, a location in the mountains northeast of Cambria that often leads the county in rainfall, led the way with 5.36 inches.

The San Luis Obispo area received 3.13 inches, while the South County topped out at around 3.06 inches. North County ranged from 1.71 inches in Shandon to nearly 4 inches in Atascadero.

  • Salinas Dam: 4.41 inches
  • Santa Margarita: 4.87 inches
  • San Luis Obispo: 3.13 inches

What’s ahead in SLO County’s forecast?

Looking ahead, rain is expected through the end of the week, with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s and intermittent sunshine.

According to the Weather Service forecast, Wednesday was expected to bring some sunshine before more storms, with most rain expected before 10 a.m. and lower winds at 10 to 15 mph and gusts of up to 20 mph, according to the Weather Service.

Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected Wednesday, but showers will return overnight at around 4 a.m., with between a quarter and half inch possible, according to the Weather Service.

Thursday was expected to bring between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain before 4 p.m., along with winds between 20 and 25 mph, before nightfall brings lower chances of rain, according to the Weather Service.

On Friday, there’s a low chance of rain in the morning, but the weather should clear by the afternoon, providing the only sunny day on the forecast, which will carry into Saturday.

Saturday then shows a slight chance of rain and a high of 61 degrees, according to the Weather Service.

Sunday will bring the warmest temperatures in the forecast with a high of 66 degrees and partly sunny conditions, but rain is anticipated to pick up heading into Monday, according to the Weather Service.
