Breaking News

San Luis Obispo County could see dry lightning strikes that could pose a fire threat on Friday as a heat wave continues in the area, according to the National Weather Service.

According to a Weather Service post on X, San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara counties will experience elevated showers passing through Friday.

Very dry air near the ground will likely evaporate most of the rain, but that can lead to dry lightning strikes that could cause fires, according to the Weather Service post.
