After Saturday’s storm, a significant change in the weather pattern will develop this week as a ridge of high pressure sits off the coastline and produces clear and dry weather with cool mornings and mild afternoons on Sunday into Wednesday.

A dry cold front will produce increasing northwesterly winds, cooler temperatures, and night and morning marine low clouds on Thanksgiving Day.

In the wake of Saturday’s cold front, fresh to strong (19 to 31 mph) northerly winds will develop on Sunday. These winds will produce clear skies and mild temperatures. However, pockets of dense ground fog, especially in the inland valleys, could develop during the night and morning.

A pattern of moderate to fresh (13 to 24 mph) Santa Lucia (northeasterly) winds developing during the night and morning, decreasing and shifting out of the northwest during the afternoon, will produce primarily clear and dry skies with cold mornings and mild afternoons on Monday through Wednesday. The inland valleys (Paso Robles) and coastal valleys (San Luis Obispo) will warm to the low to high 70s, while the beaches will reach the 60s.

A dry cold front will move over the Central Coast on Thanksgiving Day. This front will create fresh to strong (19 to 31 mph) northwesterly winds with pockets of mist and fog during the night and morning and cooler temperatures.

Gentle to moderate (8 to 18 mph) Santa Lucia (northeasterly) winds are forecast on Friday through Saturday, producing mostly clear skies.

Another storm is expected to produce rain from November 28 through 29.
