San Luis Obispo County sported a blanket of white across its higher elevations on Thursday as a chilly winter storm dropped snow across the region.
Snowflakes dusted vineyards in Paso Robles, frosted a field off Highway 58 as cows grazed contentedly and turned a Parkhill Road driveway into a wintry playground in Santa Margarita.
Snow also covered the tops of local hills and mountains from Cayucos to San Simeon, providing a dramatic backdrop for surfers competing in the SLO CAL Open in Morro Bay.

All that wintry weather made for excellent photos, as residents discovered.
Luckily for local photographers, more cold, wet weather is expected on the Central Coast this week.
Here’s a look at some of the pictures and video of the winter wonderland on display on the Central Coast.
