SLO County weather forecast for the week of June 14: Windy at the coast, warm inland
Much like last week, northwesterly winds will blow along the coastline through Wednesday as a steep pressure gradient develops along the Central Coast.
This condition will produce strong to gale-force (25 to 38 mph) northwesterly winds along the coastline during the afternoon with areas of overnight marine low clouds in the coastal regions and gradually warmer temperatures.
The northwesterly winds will diminish on Thursday into Friday and will allow the marine layer to deepen and move inland with areas of night and morning fog and mist. At this time, no excessive heat waves are expected through next week.
Surf report
The persistent winds off the California coastline will generate a 4- to 6-foot northwesterly (310-degree, deep-water) sea and swell (with a 5- to 11-second period) on Sunday. Increasing winds will generate a 6- to 8-foot northwesterly (315-degree, deep-water) sea and swell (with a 5- to 11-second period) on Monday into Wednesday, decreasing on Thursday through Friday.
Seawater temperatures will range between 50 and 54 degrees through Friday.
