Soggy, cold weather hit SLO County this week. Here’s how much it rained near you
Cold, soggy weather swept across San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast on Thursday, soaking most areas with at least half an inch of rain.
Gray skies gave way to showers in the afternoon, leading to “gusty winds and periods of heavy rain and a few thunderstorms,” PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey wrote in an email Friday.
Wind speeds reached 28 to 47 mph at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, Lindsey said.
According to Lindsey’s forecast, a high pressure system will bring more wind, clouds and cold mornings. More drizzle is expected Monday into Tuesday, he said.
Thursday’s showers produced 0.34 to 0.95 inches of rain, with most places receiving half an inch of precipitation. Rocky Butte near San Simeon received the most precipitation with 0.95 inches of rain recorded.
Cal Poly received the least precipitation with 0.34 inches recorded.
