Why the corn dogs got recalled. Customers said they looked, smelled and tasted funny

About 76,961 pounds, or 42,055 bags, of Foster Farms Mini Corn Dogs were recalled from stores across the nation for “possible spoilage,” the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday.

South Carolina company House of Raeford made the corn dogs.

“The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS that it received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance, and unpleasant taste,” the alert said.

The recalled corn dogs come in 1.83-pound bags with lot Nos. 123114 and 223114 and a best by date 4/23/24.
